Reflecting the values of respect and care conveyed by the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, GlobalWafers’ Italian subsidiary, MEMC Electronic Materials S.p.A., launched “Books in Circulation,” a book-sharing initiative that transforms a space within its manufacturing site into a warm and welcoming reading corner—the “Red Library.”

In Italian culture, red symbolizes respect for and the protection of women’s rights. With reading as its starting point, the Red Library features a curated selection of books on gender equality, respect, freedom, and freedom from fear. It creates a welcoming space that fosters inclusion and mutual understanding, allowing employees to experience the company’s commitment to respect for women, diversity, and inclusion in their everyday lives.

The initiative also puts GlobalWafers’ environmental and social commitments into practice:
