GlobalWafers Maintains Top 5% Ranking among TPEx-Listed Companies for Seven Consecutive Years in Corporate Governance Evaluation

The results of the 11th (2024) Corporate Governance Evaluation were recently announced, and GlobalWafers Co., Ltd. has once again been ranked among the top 5% among TPEx-listed companies. This marks the seventh consecutive year the company has received this distinction, demonstrating its long-standing commitment and outstanding performance in board governance, information transparency, shareholder rights protection, and sustainability development promotion.

Jointly conducted by the Taiwan Stock Exchange and the Taipei Exchange, the 2024 evaluation covered 977 listed companies. GlobalWafers’ continued position among the top-tier performers reflects its efforts to strengthen governance systems and improve governance effectiveness, earning recognition from the capital markets.

Guided by its philosophy of “Responsible Growth,” GlobalWafers continues to enhance its governance framework, improve operational transparency, and advance sustainable development strategies. Notable achievements include:

  • Excellence in board diversity and independence: Among the eight board members, three are female directors, accounting for 37.5% of total seats, and four are independent directors, representing 50%, reflecting the company’s emphasis on diversity and effective oversight.
  • Strong intellectual property management: The company has consistently obtained AA-level certification under the Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System (TIPS), protecting its innovation outcomes and safeguarding core competitiveness.
  • Recognition for employee care and inclusion: GlobalWafers has received “Excellence Award for Promoting Workplace Equality” from the Hsinchu Science Park Bureau for two consecutive years. Additionally, the Taisil branch was honored with the Ministry of Labor’s “Outstanding Employment Award for Senior Workforce” for its job redesign efforts, underscoring the group’s active promotion of gender equality, age inclusiveness, and workforce well-being.
  • Continued improvement in global sustainability ratings: In 2024, GlobalWafers received an “A- (Leadership Level)” rating in CDP’s Water Security assessment, highlighting its proactive approach to water resource management and climate risk mitigation.

In addition, GlobalWafers’ parent company, Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS), and affiliated companies Actron Technology Corporation (Actron) and Advanced Wireless Semiconductor Company (AWSC) were also ranked in the top 5% of TPEx-listed companies in this year’s evaluation, further demonstrating the group’s exceptional governance capabilities.
