Recognizing the urgency of this issue, GlobiTech has implemented proactive measures to prevent e-waste from ending up in landfills, thanks to the dedicated efforts of team members from the IT group.
The IT group works in collaboration with GlobiTech’s Safety Manager to recycle e-waste, aligning with GlobiTech’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program. This e-waste recycling initiative not only mitigates environmental impact but also supports broader sustainability and corporate responsibility goals. In 2024, GlobiTech’s e-waste collection amounted to 2,260 kilograms, more than double the 2023 collection amount. Based on current recycling efforts, GlobiTech is on track to surpass the 2025 target. Since its implementation, the program has diverted a significant amount of e-waste from landfills, repurposing it effectively.
E-waste contains valuable materials such as metals, plastics, and glass, which can be recovered and reused. By recycling these materials, GlobiTech reduces the need for raw material extraction, conserves natural resources, and minimizes the carbon footprint associated with manufacturing new electronics.
Additionally, proper e-waste recycling prevents hazardous substances like lead, mercury, and cadmium from contaminating soil and water.
