Ms. Doris Hsu, Chairperson of GlobalWafers was conferred the title of Commander of the Order of the Italian Star (Commendatrice Dell’Ordine della Stella Italiana) in January 2024. Today (4/24), the representative of the Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office, Rep. Davide Giglio, presented this award to Chairperson Hsu in Taipei.
GlobalWafers, the third largest semiconductor wafer manufacturer, has operation sites in Novara and Merano and has been developing its business in Italy since 2016. In recognition of the contribution made to the development of relations in the economic and cultural fields, high republican honors (Order of the Italian Star) have been awarded to prominent local personalities in the sectors of industry (semiconductors, motorcycles and motor vehicles) and art. With this honor the highest authority of the Italian Republic intends to express its recognition for Chairperson Hsu’s involvement in Italian economy through the investments made by GlobalWafers and her outstanding contributions for the development of relations between Italy and Taiwan.
