On September 16, 2026, GlobalWafers hosted its GlobalWafers Supplier Day, bringing together more than 200 participants from across its global supply chain in a virtual event. The event communicated a consistent sustainability direction to partners across different regions and areas of collaboration, while responding to growing customer expectations for decarbonization, responsible sourcing, and supply chain traceability.
GlobalWafers continues to advance toward its goals of using 100% renewable energy by 2040 and achieving net-zero emissions across the value chain by 2050, with supply chain decarbonization incorporated into its long-term sustainability strategy. Through Supplier Day, GlobalWafers connected customer expectations, corporate sustainability goals, and supplier actions, enabling global partners to better understand future collaboration priorities and establishing a shared foundation for continued cooperation and improvement.
From Goals to Action: Advancing Sustainable Practices Across the Supply Chain
To strengthen decarbonization and information transparency, GlobalWafers outlined specific actions at Supplier Day, including support for the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and related emissions reduction measures, provision of verified Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data, increased use of renewable energy, enhanced carbon emissions disclosure, and the establishment of annual emissions reduction and continuous improvement plans. Partners are also expected to participate in ESG assessments and on-site audits, submit annual updates on sustainability improvements, and progressively adopt relevant management systems such as ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 14067 for product carbon footprint.
GlobalWafers also encouraged partners to extend biodiversity management across the value chain, further strengthening environmental responsibility and sustainable sourcing. Through disclosure, assessment, auditing, and follow-up mechanisms, the company is progressively enhancing carbon transparency, traceability, and decarbonization capabilities throughout its supply chain, translating sustainability expectations into actionable and measurable collaboration mechanisms. As these standards continue to evolve, sustainability has also become an important consideration in supplier qualification and partnership assessments, encouraging partners to strengthen their governance capabilities and sustainability performance.
Building a Comprehensive Responsible Supply Chain Framework
GlobalWafers regards integrity, sustainability, and regulatory compliance as essential foundations for collaboration. Through its Supplier Code of Conduct, the company establishes shared standards for responsible business practices covering anti-bribery, ESG, trade compliance, intellectual property protection, labor and human rights, and green procurement, reinforcing responsible sourcing and value chain governance.
Through shared environmental, social, and governance standards, GlobalWafers helps suppliers better understand evolving customer expectations, market developments, and regulatory trends, while integrating relevant requirements into their daily operations. Supplier Day also serves as an important platform for communication and alignment among global partners, helping suppliers proactively strengthen capabilities in carbon management, responsible sourcing, and continuous improvement, while enhancing supply chain transparency, resilience, and long-term competitiveness.
From Expectations to Recognition: Creating a Positive Cycle of Collaboration
GlobalWafers also recognizes the outstanding performance of its business partners through the Supplier Excellence Awards. This year’s event featured five award categories: Best Supplier, Equipment Partner Excellence, Sustainability, Outstanding Contractor, and Supply Chain Innovation. A total of eight suppliers were recognized, reflecting GlobalWafers’ emphasis on overall excellence, continuous improvement, and long-term partnership value across its supply chain.
From bringing together more than 200 global supply chain partners to align on sustainability priorities, to advancing Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments, Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) disclosure, ESG assessments, on-site audits, and annual improvement programs, and ultimately recognizing outstanding supplier performance, GlobalWafers has progressively established a sustainable supply chain management framework centered on expectation-setting, assessment, improvement, and recognition. Through close collaboration with its partners, the Company continues to enhance supply chain competitiveness while creating long-term sustainable value.
Through Supplier Day, GlobalWafers connects customer expectations and corporate sustainability objectives with concrete actions across its global supplier network. By embedding responsibility and sustainability requirements into day-to-day supply chain operations and strengthening carbon transparency, decarbonization capabilities, and operational resilience through long-term collaboration, GlobalWafers and its partners are working together to build a more competitive and sustainable supply chain that delivers long-term value.
