GlobalWafers Promotes Women’s Cancer Screenings to Foster a Gender-Inclusive and Healthy Workplace

To strengthen employee health management and fulfill its commitment to building a gender-friendly workplace, GlobalWafers’ Taisil branch recently collaborated with a professional medical institution to hold a Women’s Health Screening Initiative at its facility. The program focused on three high-incidence and high-risk gynecological cancers: breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and cervical cancer. It offered free on-site screenings and one-on-one health consultations. A team of female doctors specializing in obstetrics, gynecology, and breast surgery provided the services during working hours. The event received strong participation from female employees and was met with positive feedback.

GlobalWafers has always placed great importance on the physical and mental well-being of its employees. The company is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and caring work environment. The cancers selected for this screening are among the most commonly diagnosed among women in Taiwan. According to the Cancer Registry Report published by the Health Promotion Administration in December 2024, breast, ovarian, and cervical cancers ranked first, seventh, and ninth respectively in cancer incidence among women. Regular screenings are vital for early detection and effective treatment, which can significantly improve both survival rates and quality of life. By bringing medical services into the workplace, GlobalWafers aims to help employees overcome barriers related to time and access, while promoting a culture of preventive healthcare.

To ensure comfort and privacy, designated screening areas were set up within the facility. Many employees expressed gratitude for the company’s thoughtful planning. The initiative not only raised awareness of health issues but also made employees feel seen and supported. Some participants shared that managing both work and family often left little time for medical appointments. The convenience and professionalism of the on-site service encouraged them to prioritize their personal health.

GlobalWafers emphasized that building a healthy workplace involves more than occupational safety and emergency response. It should also include disease prevention, mental health support, and gender-sensitive care. This initiative forms part of the company’s broader Workplace Health Promotion Program. Future plans include extending the program to healthy nutrition, mental wellness, and chronic disease prevention, with continued improvements based on employee needs.

Guided by its people-oriented core value, GlobalWafers remains committed to putting corporate social responsibility into practice. The company strives to create a truly inclusive and sustainable workplace where every employee feels safe, valued, and supported.
