GlobalWafers Recognized as “Top 100 DEI Companies for Middle-Aged and Elderly Workforce” by 104 Job Bank and Business Weekly

GlobalWafers is committed to creating a diverse, inclusive, and friendly work environment. The company continuously promotes workplace equality and fosters a supportive workplace by implementing the values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the organization.

In September 2024, GlobalWafers was recognized as one of the “Top 100 DEI Companies for Middle-Aged and Elderly Workforce” by 104 Job Bank and Business Weekly for its “Health Protection Management for Middle-aged and Elderly Employees” initiatives. The details were published in the 1923rd issue of Business Weekly.

GlobalWafers offers several measures and initiatives to support an age-friendly workplace, including:

  • Employee Health Protection:
Annual health check-ups, special operation check-ups, cancer screenings, vaccinations, and regular health promotion activities and seminars. Health education information is provided bi-weekly and before traditional holidays.
  • Middle-Aged and Elderly Employees Health Protection
In response to aging population structure and to ensure the health suitability of middle-aged and elderly employees for their workloads, we have established a Health Protection Plan for Middle-Aged and Elderly Employees. This plan involves hazard identification and risk assessment, preventive and improvement measures, and tracking the effectiveness of these implementations. The goal is to protect the health of middle-aged and elderly employees, promote their physical and mental well-being, and prevent occupational hazards.
  • ECP (Employee Caring Program)
Since 2021, Globalwafers has implemented an Employee Caring Program (ECP) as part of its internal initiatives, offering comprehensive care for employees. This program includes the incorporation of the Employee Assistance Program Service Center (EAPC) from the Hsinchu City Lifeline Association, providing employees with a wide range of services, including emotional management, interpersonal relationships, legal advice, career guidance, family and parenting, financial counseling, and more. Each employee is entitled to two free one-on-one counseling sessions annually. Additionally, nurses actively refer employees with high scores on mood assessment surveys to the EAPC, conducting regular follow-ups and caring for colleagues’ well-being. The company also introduces the service program during new employee orientations, distributing contact information cards and regularly sharing articles on psychological well-being. Through professional counseling services, the aim is to help employees overcome challenges, resolve issues at their core, and create a work environment where employees can feel secure and confident.

GlobalWafers will continue to make diversity, equity, and inclusion long-term goals of our sustainable business operations, laying a solid foundation for every step we take into the future.
