GlobalWafers Works with Suppliers to Advance Carbon Management and Build a Low-Carbon, Resilient Supply Chain

As the global transition toward net zero continues to accelerate, customers are placing increasing emphasis on green supply chains and greater transparency in carbon-related information. Corporate decarbonization is therefore no longer limited to companies’ own operations, but is increasingly extending across the entire value chain. GlobalWafers has identified sustainable supply chain management as a material sustainability topic and continues to strengthen supplier environmental and carbon management capabilities through multiple mechanisms, including supplier sustainability assessments, carbon inventories, and decarbonization engagement. These efforts are designed to reduce supply chain risks and build a more resilient, low-carbon supply chain.

Strengthening Supplier Sustainability Assessments and Carbon Management through a Systematic Management Framework

GlobalWafers focuses its supplier management efforts on key raw material suppliers representing the top 80% of procurement spending. In accordance with its Supplier Sustainability Standards and Supplier Code of Conduct, GlobalWafers regularly monitors suppliers’ environmental, social, and governance practices through supplier sustainability assessments, self-assessment questionnaires, on-site audits, and ongoing follow-up mechanisms.

In the areas of environmental and carbon management, GlobalWafers encourages suppliers to obtain ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification, ISO 14064-1 greenhouse gas inventory verification, and product carbon footprint verification, helping suppliers establish a more comprehensive foundation for environmental and carbon emissions management. For suppliers with higher carbon emissions, GlobalWafers also promotes decarbonization initiatives and carbon footprint improvement measures. In addition, sustainability management practices are shared through Supplier Day and regular engagement activities to further strengthen suppliers’ sustainability and decarbonization capabilities.

108 Suppliers Complete Sustainability Assessments, Advancing Carbon Information Transparency

As of the end of 2025, GlobalWafers had completed sustainability assessments for 108 key suppliers,. Among them, 81 suppliers had obtained ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification, while 20 suppliers had completed third-party greenhouse gas inventory verification.

Polysilicon is a critical raw material for semiconductor wafer manufacturing. As part of its polysilicon supply chain management, GlobalWafers has also incorporated its key suppliers into its carbon emissions tracking program. By continuously monitoring suppliers’ carbon emissions data and decarbonization progress, GlobalWafers is progressively enhancing carbon transparency across the supply chain and strengthening its carbon reduction management capabilities.

Expanding Sustainable Supply Chain Management and Creating a Low-Carbon Future Together with Partners

Looking ahead, GlobalWafers will continue to increase supplier coverage for ISO 14001 certification, ISO 14064-1 verification, and product carbon footprint verification. The Company will also encourage key suppliers to establish carbon reduction targets and make decarbonization commitments aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Beginning in 2026, chemical and gas suppliers will also be fully incorporated into the supplier sustainability assessment framework, further expanding the depth and scope of GlobalWafers’ sustainable supply chain management.

Through continued engagement and decarbonization collaboration, GlobalWafers will work closely with its suppliers to advance sustainable management and the low-carbon transition, enhance supply chain resilience and competitiveness, and move toward a supply chain characterized by greater transparency and long-term sustainability value, while supporting the broader transition toward net zero.
