GlobalWafers Chairperson Doris Hsu Achieves Third Consecutive Win as “Taiwan’s Best Female CEO” by Harvard Business Review

Harvard Business Review (Global Traditional Chinese edition) recently announced the results of its third “Taiwan’s Best Female CEOs of TWSE/TPEx Listed Companies” survey. Doris Hsu, Chairperson of GlobalWafers, once again claimed the top position among TPEx listed companies, securing an impressive third consecutive win based on her outstanding corporate management and ESG performance. In addition, Doris Hsu was also ranked among the top 10 TPEx listed companies in her capacity as Chairperson of Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS), making her the only female leader to represent two companies on this year’s list. This achievement highlights her exceptional leadership and strategic vision in the global semiconductor supply chain and the renewable energy sector.

According to the Harvard Business Review’s “Taiwan’s Best Female CEOs” survey, Chairperson Doris Hsu ranked first among TPEx-listed companies in her role as Chairperson of GlobalWafers. Through decisive mergers and acquisitions and a forward-looking global strategy, Chairperson Hsu has led GlobalWafers into the ranks of the world’s leading semiconductor wafer manufacturers. She has also driven aggressive capacity expansions across Asia, Europe, and the United States, including the launch of the new Texas fab in 2025 and expansion projects in Missouri, Italy, Denmark, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. Despite challenges such as global macroeconomic uncertainty, industry cyclicality, and geopolitical risks, Chairperson Hsu continues to strengthen corporate resilience and advance sustainable development through prudent management and long-term strategic vision.

Launched in 2021, the “Taiwan’s Best Female CEOs of TWSE/TPEx Listed Companies” survey is conducted every two years by Harvard Business Review (Global Traditional Chinese edition). It uses rigorous financial performance metrics and ESG evaluation to recognize outstanding female leaders in Taiwan’s publicly listed companies. Financial indicators follow the core criteria adopted by Harvard Business Review’s global CEO rankings, including total market value growth and cumulative total shareholder return (TSR) during tenure, and additionally incorporate average earnings per share (EPS) to better reflect the Taiwan market. ESG performance is assessed based on the Taiwan Stock Exchange’s Corporate Governance Evaluation results and the TIP Taiwan Sustainability Index model developed by Taiwan Index Plus, a subsidiary of the exchange, to provide a comprehensive view of corporate sustainability performance.

According to the latest data, Taiwan now has over 1,800 TWSE and TPEx listed companies, with 326 women holding top executive roles such as chairperson, CEO, or general manager, representing a 45 percent increase compared to the previous edition. As the number of female business leaders participating in the evaluation continues to grow, the threshold for making the list and the level of competition have both risen, further underscoring the exceptional significance of Chairperson Doris Hsu’s achievement in receiving this honor.
