Since 2024, GlobalWafers’ Korean subsidiary, MEMC Korea Company (MKC), along with 15 other companies in the Cheonan area and the Cheonan city government, has been actively participating in the ‘One Company, One Stream’ initiative under a formal cooperation agreement. This program aims to foster collaboration between businesses and the local community to preserve waterways and contribute to environmental protection. Under the initiative, each participating company takes responsibility for maintaining a designated section of a nearby stream.
To fulfill this commitment, MKC organized two environmental cleanup activities along a 500-meter section of its designated stream. Employees from the Environmental, Safety, and Health team, along with staff from various departments, participated in the initiative, collecting approximately 100 kilograms of waste and removing invasive plant species that threaten the ecosystem.
Employees who participated in this regular activity had the opportunity to directly experience the importance of environmental conservation and gained a deeper awareness of the need for a sustainable ecosystem. Looking ahead, MKC plans to encourage even greater employee participation, reaffirming its commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier environment for the community we live in today and for future generations.
