On March 20, 2025, the British Office in Taipei, together with a delegation from the UK Electronics Skills Foundation (UKESF), visited the Taiwan headquarters of GlobalWafers to explore potential cooperation opportunities in internships, student exchanges, and talent recruitment. The visit aimed to foster deeper collaboration and exchange with GlobalWafers in the semiconductor field.
Recognizing Taiwan’s leading position and outstanding achievements in the global semiconductor industry, the delegation traveled from Europe to engage directly with local semiconductor companies, including a visit to GlobalWafers’ Taisil Branch in Taiwan. This discussion focused on exploring ways to strengthen collaboration between Taiwan and the UK in semiconductor education and talent exchange, with the hope of establishing more diverse industry-academia cooperation models and jointly cultivating a new generation of semiconductor professionals with global vision and technical expertise.
