President Tsai Ing-wen led Chern-Chyi Chen, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs, Ker Chien-Ming, Coordinator of DPP Caucus in Legislative Yuan, Chih-Chien Lin, the Mayor of Hsinchu City, Kuo-Jung Shen, National Policy Advisor to the President, Jang-Hwa Leu, Director General of Industrial Development Bureau, and Cheng-Wei Yu, Director General of Bureau of Energy to visit the headquarter of Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. and GlobalWafers Co., Ltd. on 7th September. During the visit, the Chairperson, Doris Hsu, not only personally introduced company and guided the production line tour, but also raised the suggestion and direction of solar and semiconductor industries, with expectation of a joint collaboration of government and industry to accelerate green energy development and strengthen local supply chain. President Tsai deeply agreed with the company that the suggestion was in line with the national policy, it was correct and necessary to build “Taiwan brand” renewable energy and semiconductor industry chain for future development. Taiwan government will fully support the industry to make Taiwan an important base for information technology and green power in the Asia-Pacific region.
