SAS & GWC June 2023 Revenue Report

Hsinchu, Taiwan, July 6, 2023 –Sino-American Silicon Products (SAS) released June results today that the consolidated revenue totaled NT$7.19 billion with 7.49% MoM and -0.9% YoY. Among which solar revenue came to NT$673.35 million with 32.69% MoM and -29.1% YoY. SAS Q223 consolidated revenue totaled NT$20.32 billion, 2.8% decrease compared with Q123 and 0.24% increase compared with Q222. Solar business consolidated revenue in Q223 totaled NT$1.95 billion, 3.93% growth compared with Q123 and 24.62% decrease compared with Q222. Overall, SAS’ cumulative consolidated revenue performance in the first half of the year totaled NT$41.22 billion with 5.59% YoY, hit the record high over the same periods in history.

SAS’ semiconductor subsidiary, GlobalWafers (GWC), also released its June results today that the consolidated revenue reached NT$6.31 billion with 5.85% MoM and 1.06% YoY, which hit the second highest in history. GWC Q223 consolidated revenue totaled NT$17.9 billion, 3.87% decrease compared with Q123 and 2.03% growth compared to Q222. GWC’s cumulative consolidated revenue in the first half of the year reached NTD$36.51billion with 7.88% YoY, reached the best record in history.

As of the first quarter of 2023, GWC has achieved 13 consecutive quarters of revenue growth with excellent results. Although the revenue in Q223 decreased slightly compared with the previous quarter, GWC performed quite well amid geopolitical tensions in various countries and sharp fluctuations in exchange rates. Regarding the outlook of the second half of the year, due to the uncertain demand in the terminal market, GWC will continue to observe the industry dynamics carefully, and improve its operational resilience with its complete product spectrum, wide range of end applications and worldwide operating sites to welcome future recovery of the industry.
