MEMC Electronic Materials SpA – a GlobalWafers company (“MEMC-GWC”) and Sleep Advice Technologies (“SAT”) announce a collaboration to evaluate new digital solutions designed to further strengthen worker safety in wafer manufacturing operations.
The initiative focuses on testing an integrated approach that combines real-time fall detection, post-fall posture recognition, and location reporting through modern Garmin wearable devices and a dedicated alerting workflow. When an event is detected, the solution is designed to generate an immediate notification to the site’s designated safety personnel, together with the most accurate available location information, supporting timely on-site response.
Accurate positioning in industrial environments is a key element of the pilot. The collaboration will specifically assess performance in indoor areas, including complex layouts typical of advanced manufacturing facilities, where traditional positioning technologies may be less effective.
