To foster a healthy work environment and enhance employee well-being, the GlobalWafers Health Center launched the “2025 Health Journey: Step & Explore Challenge.” Centered on a daily goal of 7,000 steps and incorporating nutrition-exploration missions, nutrition workshops, and fitness assessments, the program supports employees in developing sustainable health behaviors in their daily routines. The use of gamification encourages participation and gradually strengthens physical activity and health awareness, contributing to a broader culture of workplace well-being.
7,000 Steps a Day: Integrating Physical Activity Into Daily Life
The initiative begins with a simple and accessible action—walking. The daily target of 7,000 steps is both achievable and effective in reducing health risks associated with prolonged sitting, including metabolic disorders, cardiovascular disease, and obesity. Employees can record their steps using a mobile phone or smartwatch and naturally accumulate walking throughout commuting, moving around the office, lunchtime strolls, or after-work activities, making exercise easier to embed into everyday life.
In addition, the program includes various nutrition-exploration missions. Employees earn stars by completing walking tasks or health missions, which enhance their understanding of nutrition and healthy eating while increasing their sense of engagement and achievement.
From Assessment to Action: Summary of Health Behavior Outcomes
To provide employees with a comprehensive understanding of their physical condition, the Health Center conducted fitness assessments covering BMI, waist-hip ratio (WHR), bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), muscle strength, flexibility, and cardio respiratory fitness. Providing employees with a comprehensive health assessment, complemented by nutrition workshops that deepen their understanding of post-exercise nutrition—further supporting ongoing health management and the development of long-term healthy habits.
