- Parenting Allowance & Measures
I. Pregnancy assistance: A subsidy of NT$14,000 upon the birth of a child. Employees who remain employed for one year after childbirth (excluding maternity leave) are eligible for an additional subsidy of NT$12,000 per childbirth.
II. Facility: A lactation room equipped with independent space is established; a dedicated refrigerator for breast milk, bottle sterilizer, sink, emergency contact phone, power outlets, ergonomic sofas, and access control measures are set up as well. This strives to offer a private, secure, and cozy environment for maternal employees.
III. Risk assessments: For employees in the reassuring group who are pregnant, the company offers protective measures and conducts risk assessments for workplace hazards and environmental risks. The company arranges on-site occupational health specialists to assess the work and personal health conditions of pregnant employees and evaluate whether adjustments to current job responsibilities are needed. Early and regular monitoring is implemented to demonstrate support through attentive care and assistance. Additionally, a pregnancy package is prepared in the mid-term, including a maternity nursing pillow (market value NT$1,500). This thoughtful gesture aims to offer emotional support, ensuring that expecting employees feel accompanied and empowered throughout this joyful phase of life.
IV. Flexible working hours: Three shift options are offered for selection: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. This allows employees to arrange their personal time as the way they preferred, avoiding peak traffic during commuting. With the flexibility to adjust working hours, both start and end times remain adaptable, ensuring work hours remain constant. The significant advantage lies in the ability to balance work and family, enabling greater autonomy in managing work and life responsibilities, ultimately contributing to a healthier work-life balance.
V. Flexible arrangements of workdays for the production line: The production line at Globalwafers Hsinchu Plant operates on a scheduling system, allowing for flexible arrangements of workdays.

- ECP (Employee Caring Program)
Globalwafers considers employees as the company’s most valuable assets. Recognizing that the physical and mental well-being of employees is crucial for enhancing productivity, the company is dedicated to creating a safe and healthy workplace. Since 2021, Globalwafers has implemented an Employee Caring Program (ECP) as part of its internal initiatives, offering comprehensive care for employees.This program includes the incorporation of the Employee Assistance Program Service Center (EAPC) from the Hsinchu City Lifeline Association, providing employees with a wide range of services, including emotional management, interpersonal relationships, legal advice, career guidance, family and parenting, financial counseling, and more. Each employee is entitled to two free one-on-one counseling sessions annually.Additionally, nurses actively refer employees with high scores on mood assessment surveys to the EAPC, conducting regular follow-ups and caring for colleagues’ well-being. The company also introduces the service program during new employee orientations, distributing contact information cards and regularly sharing articles on psychological well-being. Through professional counseling services, the aim is to help employees overcome challenges, resolve issues at their core, and create a work environment where employees can feel secure and confident.
- Gender-Neutral Uniform Colors
We offer employees uniform options in various sizes, allowing them to choose between blue or pink based on their preferences. This breaks away from traditional gender-binary uniform choices, avoiding stereotypical gender impressions.
- Cultivating a Welcoming Workplace Environment
I. Prevent illegal violations in the workplace: Formulating “Measures for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Harassment Complaints and Disciplinary Actions” and “Guidelines for Preventing Unlawful Workplace Incidents” to ensure the physical and mental well-being and safety of employees. Announcements will be made on a dedicated section of the bulletin board.
II. Regularly reviewing workplace safety: Conducting a biennial assessment and improvement of workplace security, considering job characteristics, environment, personnel composition, and operational activities for the prevention of unlawful incidents.
III. Adjustment of job responsibilities for special groups: For employees engaged in high-risk, high-demand, or night-shift work, make job adjustments and designs based on the suitability recommendations from the in-house occupational physician.
IV. Establishing convenient complaint channels: Setting up a dedicated hotline and email for reporting workplace violence/sexual harassment, with a specialized team handling complaints to ensure an objective, fair process while maintaining complete confidentiality of the rights and privacy of the complainant.
V. Conducting annual awareness courses: The curriculum covers topics such as prevention of workplace misconduct/sexual harassment, interpersonal communication skills, and employee care techniques through a series of lectures. This aims to enhance colleagues’ awareness and sensitivity to workplace misconduct incidents, ultimately promoting employees’ mental well-being.
