Through the collective efforts of our colleagues of global operation sites, GlobalWafers has demonstrated significant and steady electricity-saving performance over the past four years (2022 to 2025). The actual performance for each year are detailed below:

• 2022: Implemented multiple energy management initiatives, including building infrastructure upgrades, utility system improvements, and process equipment redesign projects, achieving annual electricity savings of 7,288 MWh.
• 2023: Deepened energy management programs focused on manufacturing energy-saving technologies. The effectiveness reached a record high, with single-year electricity savings substantially increasing to 15,189 MWh.
• 2024: Continued to implement energy management initiatives, including variable-frequency retrofits and smart energy allocation, resulting in an additional 13,399 MWh of electricity savings.
• 2025: Advanced energy management initiatives through system integration optimization and improvements to ancillary equipment, including abatement systems (local scrubbers), resulting in electricity savings of 12,444 MWh.

To fully embrace the principles of the circular economy, GlobalWafers adopts the management approach of “Recycling and Reuse First, Zero Landfill” for decommissioned IT and electronic equipment and has established three key measures:

• Data Sanitization: Prior to decommissioning, all computer equipment, servers, and storage devices are subject to information security inspection procedures conducted by the IT department. Physical destruction or internationally recognized data sanitization methods are implemented to ensure the protection of both corporate and customer information security.
• Collaboration with Certified Recycling or Reclamation Organizations: E-waste that is confirmed to be no longer suitable for reuse is entrusted exclusively to qualified recycling and resource recovery organizations holding valid waste management licenses issued by the local authorities in the regions where our facilities operate. Through processes such as dismantling, material separation, and resource recovery, including precious metal extraction, plastics recycling, and glass reprocessing, electronic waste is converted into secondary raw materials and reintroduced into the industrial value chain. GlobalWafers strictly prohibits the use of disposal vendors that engage in illegal dumping, unauthorized treatment, or inefficient incineration followed by landfilling, thereby ensuring that electronic waste is managed in an environmentally responsible manner.

With the intensifying impacts of climate change, GlobalWafers continues to assess and manage related risks and opportunities to mitigate potential effects on operations and financial performance. In 2024, we identified 10 physical risks, 16 transition risks, and 10 opportunities, and focused our evaluation on three key risks and three key opportunities with potential financial implications, for which corresponding response strategies were developed. To enhance the transparency of information disclosure, we referred to domestic and international technical reports, regulations, and industry practices, while incorporating insights from internal and external experts. Based on a comprehensive scoring of “magnitude of impact/benefit” and “likelihood of occurrence,” we developed a risk and opportunity matrix to identify and prioritize material issues, thereby strengthening our climate resilience on an ongoing basis.
